Your catalogue page pic lists the inverted overprint as "b", inverted. The "b" listing says with period after 1921 No period. |

Floortrader, it did not look kosher to me either, but I do not know why. Could you please elaborate?

I have no idea if the inverted overprint is genuine or not.
BUT it seems unfortunate to have the first reply read "It is a fake" without any accompanying reason, documentation, reference, data, measurement, etc. To comdenm another's material as fake without some evidence or proof is irresponsible. |

Why I said it was maybe a fake is that I received a stamp in the mail today and that stamp was stuck to the back of the bigger stamp I had bought..Interesting... Robert |

Cool down John B. ,I am irresponsible in a lot of things ,so that is nothing new to me . But lets get back to subject First the overprint is too thick , second the comma after HALIFAX is not right it has no "ball" at the top . Third the "t" in "to" is too curved almost like a "c". Fourth . The "H" in HALIFAX at the top and bottom are too long and doesn't show enough opening in the centers . There is a lot right about that overprint ,but not having a real one to match it up to and especially not being able to see the color tone of the black ink ,it leaves the decision of looking at a poor scan . But for those reasons mention above I would stay away from it ....therefore a possible fake . |

I can't imagine why this would be the case, but check the perf count on yours against a 73. |

The biggest giveways to me comparing the two images:
1. Look at the structure of the comma following "Halifax". In the genuine, it is very tall and elongated, but on this stamp it is short and squat.
2. Look at the numerals in "1921". It is a slightly different font. |
