ArcherG: What a Monster Head that is...

I don't think I can compete, but since I just figured out how to upload images, I'll give it a shot. My 2c #24 comes closest..

These are two favorites from the Large Queen Period.

VANKLEEK HILL AP 6 1868 - 1st week of release. The official release date was April 1.

You have to look harder to see this one but it's worth looking at. A very early Winnipeg single split ring.
WINNIPEG AP 17 77

If you like big margins, I have two stamps in my collection that come to mind and I'd like to share with you.

The first one is on Laid paper. The other is Scott 14.

Wow, beautiful stuff, people! 30vi isn't even catalogued (I assume this is a good thing for value, rarer than the #28 balloon?) and look at those LQ perfs! Perfection...

I happen to be doing my LQs at the moment...some nice examples of the 1c (I'm still working out the paper types--where's Mr. Duckwell when I need him...?)

The piece de resistance:

I love CDS Jubilees. Message me and we'll form a club.

Here is a picture of the Pirie Watermark and how it sppears on the sheet. The rectangle is the part of the watermark that is on my stamp.

jimjung, thanks for sharing. I have always wanted to see (and find) a LQ with the Pirie wm.

Just curious, did you buy this as such, or find it?

I purchased a valuable collection about 2009 and this was one of the many great stamps inside. The 1/2c Large Queen with the Winnipeg postmark was also in that collection. And this 1c on Laid Paper.
