Hi guys...Here is something you don't see that often on letters/covers...A return to sender stamp..Or maybe you guys got millions of them...

Now for the weird part..Front cancel says April 22nd, 1959, but the actual canel from the post office is one day before it was delivered, April 23rd, 1959...

In general they are more common than you think, but there's many, many different kinds of handstamps and labels. The "pointing finger" handstamp and it's may variations were popular in the U.S. and I believe there's Canadian versions of it too.

It is an 'instruction' marking. There are many types and some postal historians specialize in them. Pointed finger, rectangular boxes and so on.

I should also add that your meter is a Neopost Type B9 LV-6 that was introduced in 1950. Your example is #107 and this type started with # 101 and up.
