What does;

NNBA 146 US 1898

mean when applied to selling a stamp? I assume this has something to do with identification. Is there a way of getting the Scott number from this...thing?

This is coming from an ebay lot title.

It is their internal lot ID code. Look at their other lots and you will see they have similar codes on all their lots. It looks like it is from consignor NNBA, lot 146. So true, it gives no Scott number. Not a good sales strategy.
