I have the 2s/6p and 5s stamps from the "Britannia Rule the Waves" issues of 1913-1919. (I have determined that the stamps are not the 1934 issue.)
I cannot determine which of the three printings these are from using the criteria in the Scott Catalog for 2014.
Using the image size criteria, they appear to be the Bradbury, Wilkinson and Co. printing. Comparing colors to the Stanley Gibbons Stamp Colour Key, they appear to be the De La Rue and Co., printing. I can't tell if the perf. holes are smaller or larger since I have only the two stamps; their perforation holes are identical. The LACK of a small dot of color at top center outside the frameline suggests they were NOT printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson.
Does someone know of other criteria than can be used to identify the Company that printed these stamps in addition to the criteria listed in the Scott Catalog?
Thanks so very much for your assistance.
Best regards,
Warren

You can look at the width of the top 'stub' on each side between perf holes. Waterlow are thin and De La Rue are thicker. Check out the info on this site.

Thanks for the link Billsey. Apparently I have the Bradbury, Wilkinson, and Co., printings although the image is 22.5 mm., not
22.75 as on the link page.

Thanks for your help.

Dear GeoffHa: The colors on the link you sent suggest that the printer was De La Rue, even though the image size of my stamps is too large for that to be correct. I guess I will need to be happy for now with not knowing exactly what I've got! Thanks!

A pleasure. I can't, of course, afford any of these mint Seahorses!

Dear GeoffHa: Neither can I afford the mint ones or used ones for that matter! The two I have came in an album at bought at auction locally for $300.00. It was just dumb luck on my part, as I am just starting stamp collecting from scratch after a hiatus of over 45 years, but the Great Britain stamps it has alone have a value over $300.00!
Best regards,
Warren
