Here is a interesting history to a new addition to my collection .The stamp is the 1887 provisional bisect overprinted on a piece .
It went up for sale at the first Richard Drews Stamp Auction in Chicago .In Nov. 1993 as lot 621 as a bogus stamp from a consignor with a estimate of $75.00 to $100.00 .
Then it was put up on BID START on June 15,2008 for the amount of $750.00 with a catalog value of $1650 if on a cover {that is from S.G. catalog ,Scott does not list it .}But did not call it a bogus stamp or a fake .
Now I purchase it ,last week as part of a large lot from the James Czyl estate ,so it will sit in my forgery collection .
