Don't know if this topic has been addressed before - did a search but didn't come up with a lot that was relevant.

I have started acquiring covers on various topics and would be interested in anyone's suggestions on what albums to use to organize and store them.

Thanks.

I use G&K cover albums from Subway. Relatively cost effective and flexible. Of course, there are always issues when you get things of diffrent sizes.

I use G&K Centurion pages with black interleaving (both also available from Subway), mostly the 2-pocket version and occasionally the single-pocket (for large covers).

The advantages are a choice of binders (any 3-ring will work so you can go as expensive or inexpensive as you like), the ability to view both sides of a cover merely by flipping the page, and the archival material used in their production.

The black interleaving isn't a necessity, but it does make for a nicer presentation.

Any labelling I do is done with a 'P-touch' label maker.

I use Vario sheets of various sizes, mostly in large 4" D-Ring binders. A 3S sheet will hold 3 #6 covers per side, so six total. All my covers are otherwise already in clear cover sleeves, so in situations where it is not as important to me for the full front of a cover to be shown, I will often use Vario 5S sheets, which allow 4 covers overlapped per side. I keep a few 1S and 2S for various odd sized covers. I find this to be a relatively inexpensive way of managing a rather large collection of covers (20 binders at last count, though some are 3", stuffed full and in need of being replaced with 4" binders).

If pictures are worth 1,000 words...

Nice set of airmail covers. I especially like the last one: "The Eagle Has Talons..." Although it was a generic Patriotic Cover from the WW2 period by Jacques Minkus, it was used as a cachet for a number of stamps from that period.

Thanks, wt1. I've recently started focusing on a collection of C25a and C26 FDC's on patriotic covers, as well as non-FDC usage. As you state, the Minkus cover was very popular, and I have an example of it in my collection with C26 on it.

I use these - not Lighthouse quality, but nor are my covers!

I bought this GB Stampless collection and it came like this. I have seen this elsewhere also. It is compact and convenient. It is like a Rolodex that you can flip through. Don't mind the mess ...
