I have found this odd journal in an old Victorian wrapper from the late 19th century.

I am unable to find out a name written on the first page... Elgorlden... Elforlden... Elgoolden... Elfoolden...??? Any ideas?

It is entirely very hard to read, but I know that here are some folks who like to read this kind of stuff. I have scanned January and December, but can scan all pages, if anyone will be more into it... I gave up after first lines :)

I think it ends with "deu". I'll suggest Eljorldeu, though the middle "l" could be a quick "t" to make Eljortdeu. In any case, an interesting name to say the least.

I'm thinking it is a place name; perhaps on the Dutch/Baltic coast?

GeoffHa - a good suggestion, it could be Goulden or even Goolden.

IkeyPike... it could be...

Partime... with that "lj" it could be somewhere on the Nordic (Danish? Swedish) cost...
