These 2 stamps are usually missing from MNH sets of 241-278. I've seen one of them offered on ebay for over $500, which is ludicrous.

Are these stamps considered scare or rare MNH?

No, they are not especially rare, but are sometimes hard to acquire. Most German stamps of this period have a higher book value Used compared to MNH.

The Scott 2014 Catalog has the mint set of 241-278 valued at $25.70, and $51 for MNH.

Specifically for 242 and 242a, the mint values are $0.25 and $16.00 respectively. The harder one to track down will be the 242a.

Those are the LH values, not the MNH.

The MNH values for #241 and #242A are not given in the Scott Standard WW; you have to look in the Scott Classic. I don't have the Scott Classic for either of those years. In the 2007 Scott Classic, the prices for MNH are 35˘ and $37.50, respectively. So it looks like the MNH price for both have probably skyrocketed.

I don't have a 2015 Scott or Specialized; my latest are 2009. What are the current MNH Scott prices for Germany 241 and 242A?
