Can someone tell me if they have seen this before. The stamp on left is the same as on right. I cam across this in an old glassine of about 100 of these used stamps. I would think that it was sun fading but the cancellation is not faded. Did inking play a part in this error?

In "Polskie Znaki Pocztowe" 1960, Vol 1, p251 there is a reference to "occasions of a blue colour are the results of reactions of a chemical nature" (my translation). They don't go into any other details, I'm afraid, but at least it's known about. I'd guess some sort of solvent, detergent type of thing

The basic stamp is listed in two colours, dark-violet & grey-violet.

In the later 2012 Vol 1 the changeling is not mentioned at all, just the two colors of #251.
