Great item. 1940 census data shows the addressee at 20 College Avenue, Los Gatos. The area is filled with old homes, many of which have survived from early in the century and are now owned by Silicon Valley millionaires. Many were summer homes for the San Francisco elite, who could use the Southern Pacific main line toward San Jose, and then the Vasona Branch, to reach them. The Crim residence was only a few steps from Main Street, and perhaps it was a more modest place, as today it's a parking lot for local retailers - I'm pretty sure I've parked in it.
