Mailed Feb 24, 1919 with a 3 ring fancy purple cancel that I have not seen before....multiple registration markings and numbers for an ordinary use of this stamp...
Technically, the FIGHTING of First World War ended on Nov 11, 21918. However, for most of the world the formal end was June 28, 1919 when the Treaty of Versailles was signed. For the USA, it ended with Germany in 1921 when they came to their own, separate deal.
I have a feeling that Tommy was referring to the stamp subject, not actually calling it a WW1 cover.

Paper work is a formality...It could have been signed in 1921....1926...or any date, but fighting (war), was over before the signing..
BUT petermac...You bring up a good point...When is any war over. 1-after a country surrenders...? 2-Or signing of the surrender..?
