Tom Stillman and I were asked by Linn's to each implement a blog that will be presenting and discussing world-wide new postage stamp issues. Needless to say, with the huge amount of new issues being generated we will only be able to touch on a small percentage, but it sounded like a fun project, so we both signed on.

Tom's blog can be found at: http://www.linns.com/en/insights/vo...ollect-.html

and mine is at: http://www.linns.com/en/insights/vo...s-begin.html

Please keep in mind that both pages went live just within the last 24-hours so the content is limited, but please feel free to visit, add input, and even post some new issues that may have caught your collecting fancy.

Cheers,
George DeKornfeld

Speaking of Linn's blogs, Mr Rabinowitz writes that:

Quote:
... Each year, billions of pieces of mail go out with service-inscribed coil stamps such as the nondenominated (5˘) Art Deco Bird (Scott 4495) affixed to them ...

He points-out that changing the bulk-mail-rate designs more often would liven-up our trickle of incoming stamped mail.

To take his point further: Why do we issue definitives at all?

Or, put another way, why not stop issuing definitives for the first class rate?

Would anyone really complain to the clerk that they are not going to put birds or flowers on their outbound mail?

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

There are people who would complain if they couldn't get flags.
