This pretty much explains Top Dollar trading stamps. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trading_stamp

In the late 50's early 60's trading stamps were the vogue. You go to the gas station and fill up. Depending on you purchase they station gave you "trading stamps" that you put in a stamp book. When you filled the book you could go to the redemption center and trade the book for merchandise.

Top Value was not one of the major brands of trading stamps. S&H Green Stamps and Gold Bond Stamps more or less ruled the trading stamp world.

It seems to me we only have half an answer to the original question.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has more information on the trading stamp shown in the original image, as it appears to be a different type of trading stamp not to be confused with S&H Green Stamps or Top Value Stamps, but a different brand name reading "TOP DOLLAR GREEN STAMP".

Does anyone know where this brand originated? Can anyone date it (other than to suggest it was probably in the 1950s through 1970s when trading stamps were commonplace)?

Curious minds want to know.
