Depending on you purchase they station gave you "trading stamps" that you put in a stamp book. When you filled the book you could go to the redemption center and trade the book for merchandise.
Top Value was not one of the major brands of trading stamps. S&H Green Stamps and Gold Bond Stamps more or less ruled the trading stamp world.
