WWII Patriotic Meter Slogans...

Before now, I've not paid much attention to metered covers. But because of a current research/collecting interest, the following caught my eye:




How common were patriotic meter slogans like this? I've been looking, and don't see many, certainly not compared to patriotic covers per se. I presume this would be because meters were mostly used for commercial postage, and metered slogans were more likely to be business related. Even in this case, the slogan is business related.

If you know of others, I'd be interested to know about them.

There are countless hundreds of WWII patriotic meter slogans - some very common, some quite elusive. I would comsider your Boeing one to be better than average. Here are some additional ones showing planes.

Nice, John. Helps me to understand the variety and what to keep an eye out for. I especially like how the Boeing and your Sun Oil company tie to slogan to the company's business. Those seem to be a little more unique than "Buy bonds" or "Keep 'Em Flying" which are more common WWII slogans.

I agree wtih John, yours is a better example. These can be fun to collect.
