Hi guys...Bought a 1901 old stamp album and it had this note inside..It says something about these stamps being abolished..I don't know anything about Japanese stamps..Does this mean anything..??..Thanks.

These stamps were issued in 1883. The Michel catalog indicates that they had unlimited validity. Unlike the issues just prior to these that were valid until 1889. So that identifies the stamps but does not answer the question what 'this stamp was abolished' means Although 1901 minus 12 is 1889........

Maybe T.K. was a non native english speaker, so he meant cancelled or postmarked?
