In my quest to add to my Postal History blogs at least once a week, I have added to the 20th Century New York State Postal History blog a short look at the 1917 machine slogan cancels for the 2nd Liberty Bond campaign to help fund the US's participation in World War I.

Glenn, very informative. However, a sneaky little devil has crept into your blog. The slogan on your cancellation says:" Buy NOW US Bonds etc...", and not: "Buy NOT US Bonds etc......! Just thought maybe you can edit that a bit?

I have added a short piece to my 20th and 21st Century New York Postal History blog about non-philatelic cancels from Rural Stations. My first NY PH blog 5 years ago was on this subject also.
