"The seller will be in Polynesia when the listings end! (already setting up the reason for slow shipping). "

Gauguin, Gauguin gone, as it were.

It's like the seller saying to the buyer: "See you, I don't want to be you, I am out of here, bye bye, kiss your money goodbye."

I had earlier asked the seller about postage costs. I got an email today from him that alerted me to his website. Some very "interesting" items. Website is...

I note that he informs the visitor that his website is copyrighted and don't you dare steal any of his photos or words or anything else. He's out to steal some poor idiot's money but don't you dare even think of pinching any of his pretty little pictures.

Not that you'd want to. But . . .

What, the seller couldn't find good pictures of the Mona Lisa to try and sell that? Think of how much more money they could make! The Mona Lisa would easily bring 9 figures to the paltry 6 or 7-figures the stamps would bring. They need to think bigger next time.

So now he has added some more images to "prove" that he actually has possession of these rare items. LOL Click on his link and navigate to the new images which show the slabbed stamps 'in hand'. Now click on one and then another of the images with his hand in them. Funny how he managed to put his hand in EXACTLY the same position for each image…. Oh wait….do you think he might be Photochopping the images and has simply changed the stamp in each image??????? Doh.
What a scam. I truly hope no one even puts in any low bids and supports this fraud in any way.
Don

Edit; here are two of the same image that he has manipulated, note how they are identical (background, hand position, shadows, woodgrain) except for the slabbed part.

He actually took a little too much out of the upper tip of his thumb on the upper picture. I'm surprised he didn't get blood on the slab

If you zoom-in on either of the photos that 51studebaker has linked into the thread, you will see that the resolution of the hand is higher (ie. crisper) than that of the stamp and stamp holder! Meaning that the stamp photos is taken from a lower resolution photo (ie. 150 dpi) and inserted into another photo (ie of the hand) which is 400 dpi.

Surely if he had the stamps in question then it would be easier to take one photo than manipulate two into one using Photoshop or another graphic manipulation software package.

Buyer beware!

Wonder if he has a reserve? It doesn't seem to show the 'Reserve not met' tag.

Betcha he still checks his smartphone to see if anyone is dumb enough to bid while he's away. Or throw in a shill bid for looks.
