I can't be the only seller wondering why in the past 5 days a lot of bidders simply vanished, any other sellers find a sudden drop in bids these past few days? I must be on a rolling black out or something but just wondering where everyone went, its like my items are not being seen or something. Would be interested to hear from sellers if they are experiencing the same sudden slow sales.

Summer doldrums. Happens every year. June-August is the absolute worst time to run auctions.

But have sold hundreds of covers in June up till now and August last year was quiet big. Maybe the best time to be buying on ebay if no one else is.

I like to think of it as the best time of year to be buying on ebay. :)

My buying on ebay has been much slower for a few weeks. Not because I'm not looking, but because I'm not finding. I've continued to do my daily 45+ ebay searches but recently I'm finding much less material of interest.

I agree that they have been very slow this month. Is there a critical mass in listings where if one lists over a certain number of them, they would usually have a steady flow of sales? My listings are very few which could be the problem.

It's not only stamps, my wife owns a retail store (not stamps) and this is her slowest time of the year. However, I'm sure gift shops in tourist regions are busy right now!

Its just very stranged I sold over 500 items this month, everyone bidding then suddenly about 5 days ago no new bids at all. Its like everyone vanished all at the same time. I find that a bit odd.

In the US it is the peak family summer travel period. Due to heavy winter snows some schools did not complete sessions until June 7-11 and many families go on holiday immediately thereafter to avoid the worst heat and humidity in the US in July and August. Also Friday 3 July is a federal and bank holiday this year so the period June 14 to July 6 is an attractive holiday period. I was traveling last week and noted unusually high volume in the airports. I believe we are seeing a significant upward tick in travel in the US this year as compared to the past 3-5 years. So, your US bidders at least, will likely return in late July and August.

Since you did sell over 500 items this month, you can't really say that things have been slow for you. I guess that I could say that they were slow for me with only 5 sales this month. Sales usually happen in spurts of groups of people buying around at the same time like a bubble or gradually/steadily over a period of time. After many sales in a short period of time, sales can quiet down and start up again afterwards. Sometimes it's one person buying a lot or many people buying a lot or many people buying a little each or few people buying a little each. Sales can be very unpredictable at times. However, I am not a philatelic sales expert given that I didn't have many this month.
