Ebay Sales Slow Again, Where Are All The Bidders?

I can only hope some of the people watching my lots in the next lot ending soonest will actually place a bid. I wish sales would never slow at all.

If you made over $10,000 in sales in a month is it that bad? However, it would depend on how much the items cost you that you sold. I guess that those that have a monopoly or some corner on a market or something everyone needs can get very big and steady sales.

That kind of money on ebay would be good every month wouldn't it?

It would, but if the items cost one 20,000 and one got 10,000 for them at auction, then it wouldn't be good. Then, there's the listing fees, the final value fees, the paypal fees, etc.

That's the whole point but if you can make that much $ and its a small profit then that's good not just the fees you've mentioned to pay but as I sold five hundred items I had to buy all the postage stamps to, $2.75 each, yes buyers pay pal pal one at a time for postage but you need to use your own cash to buy stamps upfront and envelopes and stiffeners and plastic sleeves that in itself is a big expense

My buyers are very mostly Australians and summers the same here no sale but now is the best time for selling in OZ!

KGV how are you? I think now is a great time to be buying, less competition:)

duncanvr: Can you get a PayPal debit card in Australia? I use one so that I never have to pay for the postage stamps up front. I buy them at the time of mailing after buyers have paid.

Hi Battlestamps last few months I have beeb buying 100 self adhesive $2.75 stamps a week direct from Aust post PO warehouse and always have to use cc for that. Don't know on paypal debit card never looked for one.

Nice to hear things are going well for you.

The dip in sales will soon stop. Our's is from 2nd week in Dec to end Jan. Sales are so bad they do not pay for the store costs.

A lot of our bigger sales are now happening outside of ebay.

With the mailing cost increase from 70c to a $1.50 is going to change the way we sell.

Am going down the road of selling 5 or 10 set listings.

It is time to start selling in wholesale lots. Basical I am going to half the price on any given set in some sort of bulk lot offered.

I am not taking full advantage of my stamp buying contacts.

70c kiloware is selling at crazy prices. Same with recent high denom's & sheet stamps all on paper.60c kiloware has slowed very much. Have some great comm's only 60c and have not sold any for 3 weeks.

As the tax returns start coming in later this month we get a run on buyers. Hopefully that will be the same for us this year.

Even with mailing costs as it is we use over $200 in mailing per 2 weeks and that is going to double, craziness!

The price of postage is outrageous and do note our post office cries poor and claims they are making a loss whilst the oz post boss took a 4 million dollar pay check last year and donated it elsewhere. Maybe if they stopped paying him that much they would not be going broke. KGV your lucky yours are all local stamps a pain they go to $1.50 but most of mine are UK & USA so $2.75 a letter I spent $1200 on stamps last month not including parcels. Plus ebay bill its a huge cost. Anyway I hear UK buyers are busy with the tennis and a so called heat wave, an average summer day for us here in OZ.

Don't worry about us. Raining and 65 degrees in London this morning, so the panic's over. Conversely, a friend in Botany Bay advised me that her charges were wearing coats in the classroom in the harsh NSW winter. Our thoughts are with you.

-duncanvr- I can't say about everyone else but I have been doing my share of business on ebay. I have about 12 items heading my way that I bought. Who knows, I may have bought something from you if you use a different User Name there.

Let's see, I have ordered 2 albums(Older ones with some stamps) and 11 Mint US stamps. Just letting you know I am doing my part for keeping ebay around.
