Advertising covers are some of my favorite things. Here is a McCormick reaper and mower all-over advertising cover posted at Chicago in 1859.

It would be interesting to do handwriting analysis on the cover to see if he posted it to himself, or to his own office.

Did a check against signatures found on the web and it is definitely not McCormick's signature. I did notice that a signed check by him has a "buy now" price of nineteen hundred and something dollars!
Cyrus spent a lot of time in Washington DC filing patents for his various inventions.
