Richard Wright First Day Ceremony April 9th Chicago

Richard Wright (1908-1960) is the 25th individual depicted in the U.S.P.S. Literary Arts series. Wright is known for direct, powerful and sometimes controversial novels dealing with racial issues and themes. His most noted work is Native Son, the first Book of the Month Club choice written by an African-American. His autobiography Black Boy is another well-known works. The issue ceremony for this stamp will take place at the Chicago Post Office where he once worked.

That would be an interesting ceremony to attend. Too bad I have to work.

I have never attended any ceremonies. I would love to go. But I can't to this one, I may plan one soon, though. I've read Native Son, its a good book.
