Hello,
I am trying to catalog a bunch of Argentinian stamps, does anyone know of an online site that might help me figure out the Scott numbers for the various stamps? I don't have my own set of catalogs and I would prefer not to lug everything down to the library if possible. I tried using ebay (worked well for US and Canada) but no dice.

Thanks

JP

Attempting to catalog Argentine stamps on the internet is going to be a real challenge because of the dependence on watermarks in the 40's & 50's. Your best alternatives are seek out other collectors in your geographic area e.g. clubs, dealers, shows, etc. for contacts to assist. Also many libraries will allow one to check out Scott catalogs. If you were a member of APS you could use their lending library which is quite extensive.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I have many more countries (~100) that I did not know what to do with and that site will help a lot. Also, if you go to catalog mode that put both the Scott and the Michel number. It will take some work, but it seems possible now.

Glad to be of service.

I have found this site very useful, along with the Stanley Gibbons website (I don't use Scott numbers).

Catalog mode? Please explain.

Tiggersmob - when you go from the main page to the listings you can either choose to see the stamps as a list or in "catalog" mode - where you chose a year and get a picture of all of the stamps they have with some info.

I spoke a little too soon with the Scott's numbers. In some cases they have both Scott's and Michel number, but on most stamps they don't have the Scott numbers.

I can't see anywhere to select the different modes.
