No expert on Japan to put it mildly, but I found a nice deal for a big batch of Japanese kiloware on paper. I couldn't resist...

Started soaking tonight:




And plenty more to go (each pile is around 50-60 stamps)...

I like soaking Japanese stamps - they come off paper quickly and easily. The only difficulty is with some of the modern self-adhesives (like the round Disney stamp in the picture). They come off paper OK, but they tend to curl tightly into a little tube.

Agree, I find it to be very easy indeed.

As for the Disney stamp, so far so good...

I have been getting my Japan from a lady who used to advertise in Linn' s. She gets hers from somewhere in Japan and she sells her doubles. Unfortunately she just had a stroke and is working hard to get back to working on stamps. There are a few who advertise in Linn' s who sell Japan.

Nice find . I have found Japanese stamps especially recent ones to be a tad pricey.
