Great history of albums there. I picked up an 1876 edition of a circular of albums and items from Scott and it heralds the International Album as the "event of 1875." There is a sample page pictured (Japan) with 24 stamp spaces and four illustrations. Under "cheap sets" one could buy the two US issues of 1847 for 60 cents.
