can anybody help me with the plate number for my penny black please, I purchased it about 15 years ago and havent got the record of its plate number anywhere. I think its plate 3 but would that be Sg1 or Sg2?

thankyou that is the site I used and think its plate 3, just not sure what Sg number that would be though

Plate 3 is correct. Here is your stamp on the left with a known plate 3 on the right...

It would be S.G.2 as it is not black enough to be an SG1 not grey enough to be SG3 It is from a worn plate though.
