Hi all.

I have this stamp that I am trying to find. I cannot find it in the Scott or Edifil catalogues. I am wondering if it is a type if fiscal or war tax stamp? The face value is 12 Centimos.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could it be a postage due stamp?

Thanks for that jorgesurcl

What particular reference material is this information available from?
You would think that it would have been in the Edifil Catalogue since it is a specialised catalogue, but, it's not.

Bujustu.
Edifil Catalogue exists in the standard version and also the specialized version.
The latter includes proofs, essays, varieties, etc.
There is another important specialized catalogue (Galvez) which was published several years ago ( in the 60's).

Various artists participated in the project for the Amadeo I stamps :

Finally the issued stamps were those designed and engraved by Eugenio Juliá

Stamps such as these, cancelled with 3 bars, are "remainders" and were sold to the philatelic public.
They are common and sell for considerably less than postally used.
Minimal Market value, but value of course, to the individual.

Exactly, as rod222 said stamps with 3 bars are remainders and were sold in the philatelic market.
The catalogue does not mention value but on ebay are offered from $3.00 up to $10.00

That essay is know as type G and 17 plates were produced for printing in different colors on paper and cardboard.

Thanks again for all of this information.

I didn't realize that they sold these to the public after. Live and learn.
