This South Australian stamp has what appears to me to be a single line cancellation reading "TOOL." Would this be the beginning of a placename? There's a place in SA called TOOLIGIE. Does anyone know if this is the correct explanation?

"TOO LATE" marking.
Too late for inclusion into certain mails.
(Possible Rail to the eastern states, often to catch Ship departures)

Just expanding to clarify.
The sender of the original cover, would have paid an extra fee (Late Fee)
and possibly posted the cover in a "Late Fee" box, to catch a particular service.

If that was not the case, and the letter missed the intended service,
the "Too late" cachet would be stamped to show the cover did not get the service
that the "late fee" paid for.

Please retain that image, I have never seen the "too late" fee in italics before. poss rare

Borrowed from the internet...
