Hello everyone -- recently inherited some coins and a few stamps from a family member. I haven't taken pictures of mine quite yet but I found a similar ebay listing of pictures / descriptions, however I haven't found one with actual bids yet.

It's a set of 12x 1975 first day covers and sterling silver.
1975

1.Birth of Albert Schweitzer
2.Founding of Amsterdam
3.Dr. Sun Yat-sen
4.Michelangelo
5.European Architectural Heritage Year
6.United Nations
7.Joint Space Mission
8.First Steam Passenger Train
9.Liechtenstein
10.Afrikaans Language
11.Constitution of Tonga
12.Presentation of Nobel Prize

Does anyone have an idea on the value of this?

Piedpiper, welcome to the forum! You did not indicate what you want to do with your covers, but from your question you are thinking of putting it up for sale. These things don't seem to do too well. Best advise I can give you is to try and find a local stamp or coin dealer, especially if you can not find the exact same thing on E-Bay.
Good luck!

Peter

There was a similar set of 36 covers and coins sold on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Official-Pr...047675.l2557

Listed $125, a 'best offer' was accepted. I see that the link you provided had them relisted several times without any bids, this sometimes means that the asking price is too high.

As mentioned, these were produced and sold as 'collectables' and are not very popular with philatelists. Additionally, silver prices are low right now, you might want to hold off for a while and see if silver goes up some.

Sorry about that -- Yeah was looking for a price check I suppose. Thanks for the replies! It seems to be a tough market for these like you guys pointed out -- maybe I'll hold onto them for now. Thanks for the tips.
