Hello to everyone. I have some difficulty with shade colors. I have placed two stamps of the same stamp and see a color more red shade than this one. Can someone please inform me if is this stamp shade of color may be the cancellation of the carmine rose of the German 2 mil on 200m? Germany Scott 269b?

Why not put a scan of both stamps together instead of just one?

You need to put both stamps together to see the carmine rose from the rose red . A scanner and very ones computer screen will confuse and blend the shade to the software involued .If you need I can put up my copies later today .

Faded or color changling, perhaps when it was soaked it stayed too long in the chlorine tap water?

I agree with Don. The stamp looks faded. Also I would guess that carmine rose is a deeper color, not lighter.

Not a normal color. I agree that the stamp is faded, either by exposure to sunlight, chemical soaking in bleach solution to remove mold stains, or prolonged soaking in pool/tap water.

I was reading back in the community forum about comments with 2mil on 200ml..A kind gentleman from Japan expressed in the community forum that michel deutschaland specialized catalogue describes that this stamp is divided into 8 varieties. MI Nr (309AP) has 3 a,b, c) 39Hw has 2(ab) and the 309 B has two (a,b) color mark variations, the most rare veriso is the MiNr 309PB roulette with "lebaftorangerot" shade..What does this shade look like, does anyone know? apparently this man claims may be worth 14,000 Euro with this shade for used stamp. This used stamp maybe a true variation of the stamp. Does anyone know if it show the color in the Michael Deutschaland specialized catalogue? wow, this stamp is very interesting! smiles

"orangerot"..orange means orange and rot means red in german color.. so I believe in german means orange reddish color..anyone know if this is the translation for this in german?

blazenstar, here is an image from Michel's Farbenfuehrer (color guide) 30th edition. Lebhaftrotorange (bright red orange) is not shown, but red orange is shown as the swatch on the bottom row, far right. In Michel's color scheme, "lebhaft" is one step beyond the fully saturated color shown. So, you would have to imagine a brighter, less saturated version of red orange.

I bought this color guide before I learned that the only way to truly (as far as possible) known what color your stamp is, is to have it expertized. Still, the color guide is a little bit useful when you are looking at 2 or three different possible colors.

Longwave UV light is sometimes crucial for determining colors, particularly in the classic, or early empire (pre 1900) German stamps where inks will fluoresce in distinctive colors. But, that is not the case with your inflation overprints.
