Most of my losses have been to Latvia. Though it's gotten much better. This was more of an anomaly I think. I also lost an envelope to Finland a couple of years ago which was weird. I tried to get an answer from USPS what route mail out of Milwaukee follows going to Europe but never got a response. I don't know if the problem is at the far end or if my envelopes marked 'Do Not Bend' and paid for at the non-machinable rate get chewed up here and no one can be bothered to return the damaged stuff to me. I guess this is going to go down as one of life's little mysteries and the price of doing buisness on ebay.

It is entirely possible.
I have accidently left a feedback on the wrong item and there is no way to retract the error.

I sell alot on ebay ( over 8000 feedback) mostly cheap stuff and I mail it with stamps so I have no confirmation except on higher value things. You will always end up with same claims of people not getting stuff, in stamps its not bad but the way I look at it is I save so much in postage just sending stamps in an envelope that the few claims that people never got it are nothing compared the postage I save so you just write it off as a loss and move on.

If most of your losses have been to Lavia, then simply block Lavia (its been too long since I set up my blocked countries to tell ytou how to do it, but it is not difficult)

I do have some blocked countries but Latvia won't be one of them. A majority of sales has been there. It's frustrating to have stuff get lost but it's kind of the price of business and things have gotten better. The thing that stays in the back of my mind though is whether the customer is telling the truth when they say the item never got there. Especially when it's over a month after the item was mailed. In this case I never heard anything further so I don't know if the customer was confused on the item and it did arrive in a week and he left correct Feedback, whether the item finally got there but way late and he never said anything further, or if he tried to go thru the Resolution Center with ebay and they threw it out because he had left the feedback.

Most of the time I don't argue when someone says they didn't receive what I sent and refund their payment. With the Feedback left, I asked the customer to go thru the Resolution process just to leave a file with ebay that the situation happened in case there was more to it than just a lost envelope in the mail. Not sure whether ebay ever pays attention to those, but I figured 'why not'.
