R3B Questionable Part Perf

This is an item that has been listed on ebay. Not sold and is currently relisted for the third time. I think that the perf at top and bottom have been trimmed. what do the rest of you think?

I don't know if this will help at all, but I superimposed a real (?) R3b on top of the image you posted. George is pretty well lined up on both stamps, but you can see that the perfs are different. FWIW.



Note: The lower stamps's colors were reversed so that the edges would stand out. I placed four black bars at the corners of the stamp underneath. They extend to the left and right of the stamp and their outer edge runs along the imperforate edge. Is that clear as mud?

The 1868 date is also a red flag, I think. I wouldn't buy a part perf with a bottom margin like this one unless it was accompanied by a cert.

The item is a " ebay store item" in a good
to cancelled listing.
Thus it relists automatically.

this stamp has to be trimmed horizontal, they were
issued that way. (But I guess could be trimmed
of perfs)

Most definitely. That stamp is as bogus as a $3 bill. The only interest it would have is to a cancel collector as a damaged R3c unless someone is trolling for suckers.

Not only are the margins tight and the date too late, but the color is all wrong for a part perf. That shade of red is a late state shade.

Absoluetly fake, trimmed from ma perforated stamp. As stated above, bad shade, bad date, guaranteed to be the qwrong paper as well.
