Since I have posted my last topic titled "The Perfect Stamp" that was Graded 100, I see there are mixed feelings about this stamp. Some ask how I got the grade, how many stamps did it take before they had given me 100 and why did this particular stamp get a grade of 100? Some of them say they noticed some smudges on the clock.

I want to thank all of you in leaving your comments. The funny thing is I don collect stamps. I am very new at collecting stamps and I am still learning, but being on this amazing site I can assume every must have been collecting for a long time and probably have some amazing history and experience with stamps. I always look forward to your comments and I respect your knowledge, but I just grade them because I dont know what to really look for in a "Perfect Stamp", but I did manage to get one. Here are few other stamps close to perfect.

Enjoy the photos and I will continue to post some of my 98 grades. Have an amazing day!

There is nothing wrong with seeking out very nicely centered stamps...I do it myself. I think I can trust my eye to get me as close as I need to be, and whether some organization would give one a 95, 98 or 100, is not relevant, to me.

The great thing about stamp collecting is that we can each do it our own way. If you are still learning, I hope you are not spending a bunch of money on grading (but it is sort of patronizing of me to say it).

I agree totally with Cjd, and was trying to find a reason to grade such an insignificant stamp.

Grading I believe should only be sought after for such issues that are known to be off center as the norm, a couple of Spain issues come to mind.

Such when found to be somewhat centered to well centered can bring a premium to CV.

This is where grading may be beneficially sought in my opinion.

Thank you all again for the messages. I understand everyone has their own opinion with graded or non-graded the same as coins, but I like to grade most of my stamps. I hope to become more knowledgeable as years to come, just like all of you and perhaps have a better eye such as CJD.

I agree with CJD as stamp collectors we can each do it our own way. I feel the graded slab stamps is protecting the stamp, easy for me to store (stamp display box) and show off my stamp to my friends without worrying about someone damaging it. It works for me! I do have some really nice stamps and I would like to continue to share them on this awesome message board/forum. With that said, I hope to receive more on the history on my stamps pics instead of why would I grade my stamps and why waste money on grading?

Thank you all again for taking the time to post your messages. I will be posting more Chinese stamps sometime today. Enjoy your weekend!
