I started with a WW A to Z collection plus USA and Canada specialty. I then tried to organize the world with Steiner pages by colonial power to independence, or 1940 for Warsaw Pact, or 1970. My WW has become many geo/country specific collections and with concerns of getting spread too thin and just amassing the most common stamps I am looking to cut back and focus. I do like variety so working one country for a few days followed by another is my normal operation. I now want to trim back further so I can have more density plus a better mix of higher value vs commons.
So the idea of working 3 countries doesn't seem like too much.
Jeez. I do United States to current, Canada to 2000, Berlin (used), the Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania free APS albums, the National Postal Museum "Stamp of Every Country" album, and I have some random German and Poland accumulations that I want to eventually catalogue.
I am absolutely ridiculous when it comes to number of collections: -Scouts on Stamps -Haiti -Israel -Vatican -US Coast Guard postal history -Used US -A worldwide(ish) collection -Anything else I can sneak past my wife
Depends on how one defines a collection. My Germany collection is where most of my dollars go, but that's really about a dozen different collections or more, split into 14 binders. I also casually collect another 40 or so countries plus whatever else catches my eye. They could be considered 40 different collections, but I kind of think of them as "everything else" besides Germany. The "everything else" category gets added to almost exclusively through buying cheap packets and bulk lots, whereas with Germany I'm buying specific stamps and sets. I do have a hierarchy within the "everything else" category and once in awhile I'll buy a few stamps in singles or sets, but it pales next to the amount of various mixtures and kiloware I buy.
