I all
I suppose this post relates to a few recent posts
Show us your completed album pages &
Stamp display &
Shades & color charts

Its my attempt to display the varying shades of the Aussie KGV issue, I chose black pages to try & highlight the shades, with white writing, but scince my post on Shades & color charts, mmmm more work needs to be done. These are the 5 listed shades for the 2d red single wm kgv , by ACSC. It appears to be sure there correct, ill need a long wave uv light, how many watt tube or globe is required, & do all red inks used react no matter the denomination of the stamp, or is it only the penny reds ?. These shades have only been detected with the assistance of a Gibbons color key.
Regards to all
Jezza

I like the effort. Can you add more info on each shade other than just the color name? <- I'm not sure exactly what I mean, but .... uhhhhhhhh ..... is this rose red or red rose? What is the difference?

Rose Red color hexcode #be013c ....etc.

You may be on to something... potential world authority on this thing...... life calling!?

So little info; so much potential......

Nice start!

P.S.

Maybe info like you described here: https://goscf.com/t/45503

Black pages occasionally do look good in some circumstances... but, for a page of five, it is too much in my opinion. Perhaps you could try something like this as it is more pleasing to the eyes. Black mounts and black writing against a white background (no dirt or dust speckles show up as much). You should also consider giving each stamp its S.G. number (or whatever catalog you use) as well as date of issue etc alongside the color.

Thanks for posting. This is new to me and it makes me think of all kinds of ideas

I wonder how these would look in a row from light to dark for comparison of color variations to the next closet color?

I too like the black mounts

I would be interested in a paragraph of information and a data matrix on bottom half of page with year, color, color info if available, catalog numbers (both SG and Scott if available), perf., die and paper info similar to a catalog.

Is there a known list of all the color variations with assigned catalog numbers?

A picture of the watermark and catalog number is of interest.

Search the internet for examples of deep studies on a particular stamp and see how they are presented with data matrix and text.

This is just a bunch of wild ideas... I think organizing and presenting custom pages like this is interesting and creative.

I have 9w & 6w that plug into 240v. The German lights will come with the wrong plug.
To do penny reds from scratch takes maybe 3 standard lighthouse long wave UV lights. The 6w's are about 200mm but do a google and check.

Penny Reds are very much the only really difficult KGV issue when it comes to shades. The rest of the reds should be decerned by daylight colours.

Take 4d orange for example. With my youngest some years ago with approx 100 stamps we put together all the shades in an hour or so.

I do not understand..

Nice display!

Comparing the black or white background, I can see the different shades easier on the black paper, Nice job
