floor, even if the rings were 5 mm apart and the lines crisp, would this stamp even be considered as used?
I ask as I wonder where one places the burden of proof. If a cancel cannot really be identified as belonging to a place, ought it be considered at all?
Along with the fact that I'm a cheapskate, this is why I don't collect used German stamps that are worth a sizable multiple of their mint counterparts. I'd just as soon not have to deal with the headaches of examining the cancellations in that detail and/or worry about having to send them off to a Bundesprufer.
I don't consider myself as a expert ,just a worldwide collector who enjoys writing up stuff for my own collection. Is it correct 100% of the time ---No ,but if I am proven wrong just correct it and move on ,if its the seven different forgeries types of Tibet or the types of reprints for Heglioland or the Germany Blue Flea ,I just enjoy working on it .Next big project will be the Roman States .
