Interesting Flag Cancellation

Is this flag cancellation particularly rare? It's part of 'Canada's Exposition Toronto Aug 26 to Sep 7'

From the book: "Holmes Specialized Philatelic Catalogue of Canada and British North America", you have a Type 10 Flag Cancel

And, according to 'The Early Rapid Cancelling Machines of Canada' by David F. Sessions (1982) there are two types of this flag cancel with the shield. What is described in the Holmes catalogue as Type 10, is labeled in this book as TypeF11 (just a different numbering system) and it shows the shield overlapping the Union Jack. There is another version, TypeF10 where the shield does not overlap.
However I would agree that yours is the overlap type (Type 10 in Holmes, TypeF11 in Sessions) because the drawings in the sessions book slightly different vertical lines on the right side of the flag, and your cancel seems to show the extra small stroke under the shield. I've circled the line in red on the image.



This is a Bickerdike machine cancel. The Bickerdike replaced the older Imperial Machines in about 1897.

Question: why oh why do we not have flag cancels any more? They were grand - and they would be no more difficult with ink jet than the string of dots used now.
