$490 for a postcard with a stamp on it?!?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252081476099

There's another listed for sale right now @ $5 currently that states past Canadian Post errors are now in the value of thousands. Can there be long term appreciation for this postcard or will only time tell? Should I look into buying?

it says it was recalled, stuff like this is risky because it depends on what demand is after time goes buy. Stuff like this is more betting a market than collecting but to each his own

As of the time of my writing this, one has sold for $400+ but the other is still on sale. Let's wait and see what the final price is of the unsold one.

Someone should try to do a census on this recalled stamp starting with those on ebay. In order of scarcity, it appears to be official day cover first, then postal card, then souvenir sheet, then stamp booklet. Is not a post card with a stamp printed on it a postal card?

Here's the link to the thread on this site with info on this issue. I've heard the postcard is scarce but there was a Souvenir Sheet, FDC, etc.

philatelicnumismatic: welcome to the web site. I hope you will find this site to be a valuable and fun electronic place to hang out. jim6092252 offers good advice. I recall reading about this "error;" and "error" in that either the wrong park or wrong rock formation was printed. Time will tell if these recalled errors gain any value or not. And, I think "buyer beware," or at least be alert, is a good way to approach ebay deals.

The first one had all private bidding- a certain red flag for not getting into the fray.

A similar scarcity applies to first day covers too. However, Canada Post issued the following pictured official first day cover, but others are selling their own privately made fdc's as the official one.

The Postal Card of the issue sold for C$ 661.00. That means that some one was probably willing to go a lot higher.
