Newfoundland SC 133 - Possible Re-Entry?

This stamp has apparent re-entries in the UR and LL.

As I'm on dial up, I can't bring up re-entries.com to check it out myself. It's not listed in the 2015 Unitrade.


Purple dot by the "3".


Purple line through "ND"


There also appears to be re-entries in the middle of the right edge of the stamp's image.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I found no mention of Sc 133 on re-entries.com.

for what it is worth, the statue was designed by Archibald Gibb. Stamp design taken from photo by a Professor Holloway (R. Lowe).

They don`t appear as re-entry marks to me. The mark in ND may be an Engraving slip or scratch.

I find that Newfoundland stamps do have alot of extra ink or a slightly messy image more often than stamps from Canada.

But it is a great area to explore for new re-entries. The ground here has just been broken in the last couple of years.

Here is a re-entry I found on a proof of Newfoundland #69 which is not listed in 2015 Unitrade.







Note the nice doubling in the lower left corner of the stamp especially in the numeral 2 and the frame lines. There is also doubling around 1497.

Agree with jimjung, these appear to be plate flaws and not reentries. Reentries always mimic/duplicate the actual design. Both items mentioned look relatively random and are thus more likely to be plate flaws.
