Hello,

So I found these in someone's stamp junk box. The cancel on the right intrigues me (looks like the back half of a dog).

So my question is this, how can you tell if there is a cross in the crown?

And I've been shying away from asking for value, but are these valuable?

Your "dog" is a lion. It is a portion of a slogan machine cancel - shown here on a full cover (ilustration lifted from ebay)
