John, since the previous owner did such a good job cleaning up, I don't know if we'll ever know what caused the damage. We could have determined more if the frass was present or the original binding.

I would feel comfortable using the albums, though if you haven't had them long and are uncomfortable about the possibility of eggs being present, I can send you material on how to freeze the material and put an end to any possible critters.

I would have to sand about 1/8 inch or more off and that isn't going to happen. I have a gutter that does pages fairly quick.

Thank you very much for the offer.

I would greatly appreciate it.

I have ordered new pages and will little by little trim all the pages top, bottom, and sides and use them to store dups.

These will be stored in a cupboard in an air conditioned environment with almost no humidity as I am in Alberta, Canada.

That way I can keep an eye on them and see if trimming solved the issue or not.

I was really curious as to what caused the issues and if it could get worse or not. I guess time will tell.

I thank every one for their answers and assistance and will gladly accept more input and suggestions.
