This real photo of HMS Hampshire (25 x 20 cm) turned up in a box lot of stamps last week.

It must mean something to someone.

(perhaps I could start it off @ $20 on ebay )

If you can figure out enough so that 1 of those people or their family can find it you could get a good price

There have been several ships with that name, but from the vintage it looks like HMS Hampshire D06, a County Class Destroyer. If so, I am sure there would be some interest from the people at this website:

There is contact information on that page, if you want to do so.

Condition issues might effect price.

Any idea what the cups/trophies are for?

Thanks for the replies

blcjr - I contacted the email address on that website a few days ago but no reply so far.

stampcrow - yes agree, there are a few creases that would affect price.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to discover what the trophies are about so far.

Here is a link that may be interesting.
There are few pictures that match yours, but the cups seem different.
There are also the name of the crew.

Thanks codexluminati

I had just been looking at that - Teams from the vessel won some sports cups in 1967 but those cups are a different shape.

More info here with past captains but no clues

Digging into the box I've found a few more interesting bits and bobs. (Not worth mentioning the completely stuck together hinge mounts, a safety pin, 2 random buttons, full pack of sewing needles and a very large darning needle which I fortunately spotted before stabbing myself).

Here's another out of the box - an interesting photo of what looks like 2 Army boys in a European setting judging by the trees.

2 more photos - I wonder if they are related to the 2 'Army' boys. Perhaps the lady is the same on both.
