Hello Everyone, I've recently been sorting out a lot of my world stamps in to countries and, although the vast, vast majority of my stamps are British, Commonwealth, and United States, I have found some of world origin, of which these nine have not been able to be classified by me. Does anybody know which countries these stamps originate from? Any help would be much appreciated. I think that the top three are from East Timor, the orange on the middle row is from the Netherlands, the bottom left is from Uruguay, the bottom middle is from Yugoslavia, and the bottom right is from Nepal, but any confirmation on these would be a lot of help. As of today, I have no idea of the countries that the other two on the middle row belong to. I would much appreciate anyone who could tell me their countries. Many thanks, James

I think you need to crop, then resize, your scans so that they're actually visible to most of us!

Ah, here's where my inexperience with a scanner begins to show! I'll try my best to resize. |

James, another way to find these is www.stampworld.com a website that lists all stamps of the world. And yes, the second row is the Netherlands. The first stamp is a 1923 stamp, issued to commemorate 25 years of Queen Wilhelmina. It is one of a large series with lots of different perforations. The blue one that says "10 cent te betalen port" is a postage due stamp, issued in 1912. The third one I can not decipher. Both recognizable stamps are of minimal value. Peter |

The top 3 stamps are for the former western enclave of Portuguese Timor. These stamps have been created by a New Zealander claiming to be a prince over that region. These stamps are of good quality and collectable, but not listed in general catalogues! |

Stamp World seems really useful and I'll definitely try to use it to determine years of my stamps, but, unfortunately, I can't figure out how to use it to determine countries! Thanks for determining the Dutch Stamps for me; I didn't know I had ANY Dutch Stamps, Actually!, but I suppose one just picks these things up from who knows where! I will try my best to resize again, using irfanview if I can find it. I think I'll just crop the remaining four stamps whose identity remains vague. Hopefully, they won't become blurry. Gosh, I have researched that New Zealander who created that imaginary country and printed stamps for it! I wonder how those examples came in to my possession! Thank you all for the help so far, James |

The yellow stamp is Michel YU 126. It was issued in 1920 when Yugoslavia was a kingdom. This stamp, I think, was issued for Slovenia. |

James,
The Red 5 centesimos is from Uraguay and is listed in Scott as #80 (in a series from 1890 to 1901).

Thanks, 'KGB'! I suppose that, like Dutch Stamps, I have very few Yugoslavian Stamps in my collection; indeed, with the notable exception of Germany and of course the UK, my European Collection is rather limited. Perhaps I shall buy more European Stamps once I have the satisfactory majority (only allowing myself to occasionally not have a stamp of value over £250)of the stamps of the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Germany, however long that may take! Thanks, 'Hobsun013', as well! Gosh, everyone on this forum is very helpful! I realise that age is not always an indicator of value, but I had not realised that all of the stamps I originally posted -- except the Cinderellas at the top -- are classic stamps! Perhaps the remaining two are also classics? |

In your enlargement, I believe the top stamp in a revenue from a Arab nation, which one I do not know. The bottom one a revenue from India. |
