Nice set - I wonder why the 45% cuts are not quite the same on each stamp.

Great call Bas! I did not see! I do not know!

But it will be going into my collection as it is on a large cover.

Lack of attention to detail. Becoming more and more common in the printing business.

Very strange though. They are similar if not the same on opposite corners so there must be another reason besides the lack of attention to detail?

Australia Post has been trying to make a few stand out issues.

It takes two 35c stamps to make up the cost of a standard letter rate and this issue is near to the last of the 70c issues released as well.

Also there has not been to many make up stamps ever issued that take two to make up the cost of a standard letter rate item.

Plus on the 4th Jan 2016 the standard letter rate will rise to a $1. It is an interesting time for the very modern Australia issue collector. This 35c stamp is a commemorative and in multiples on cover is going to be a very hard item to get.

The southern lights issue 2014 as another example.

It could be said that the printer got the stamps of the same colour out of order but I think not.

It's a tiny bit gimmicky, isn't it?

So why is that an issue?

I wouldn't call it an issue, nor a problem. Offbeat maybe? Maybe unnecessarily so?

But the printers of the Australia King George V issue made heaps of printing errors that's why they are so popular. Along with all the other printing errors old & new.

Bottom row a printers error on the 2012 Farming Australia issue on the 1st print of the 20c pineapple. Has been named the "large pineapple error".
