Scott # 727 Stamp.

Hi guys..One more time..How does one classify a Scott# 727 from a Scott# 727a/vi or 727b..??

My example below..

Robert, on most of the stamps you showed today I have no clue as to what you are asking - I have no Unitrade so do not know any of the varieties. But they are interesting nevertheless!
On the above stamp. Something went off in my old head, and I searched under Canada Scott 727. Guess what, four different threads came up and they talk about the same stuff you do! Try it, and let us know if you found the answer!

I understand your question but I do not see your problem.

You asked "How does one classify a Scott# 727 from a Scott# 727a/vi or 727b..??".

A Scott 727 is a normal printed stamp (like the ones you have shown), while a Scott 727a/vi has the silver inscriptions omitted and Scott 727b has the silver inscriptions double printed.

Here is a Scott 727a:



For Scott 727a or 727vi, I would recommend that a VGG certificate is obtained as these can be 'created' by removing the silver print.

I do not have a Scott 727b with the inscriptions double printed, but this is a Scott 726ii which is doubled , kiss print.

Here's the 727b

I too am wondering if I have a copy of #727b and came across this topic. I'm thinking that Blackjag's picture of #727b is may in fact be #727ii which is the one with the kiss print. Isn't a kiss print one that shows a blurred doubling of some kind..? And then I'm wondering if Wert had a copy of #727b at the top where it's a true doubling of the amount of silver without the kiss print look.

Can we reexamine this? Is there anyone with some more insight?
