Hi ecmorgan,

just to let you know, the Haiti DB is now completed. It has 1826 records, complete to 2003 (which is where Scott ends with #940). There are 407 images right now, but I have 2 other collections to break down , so there will be more coming.

A question: I have what I believe is a#159 variety. The overprint is Inverted & doubled. Scott only footnotes it & no values are available. Have checked Michel, Gibbons & Minkus. Just curious. I am pretty sure it's real, butneed a bit more info

here is a pic

thanks
Marios

Awesome! I am on vacation with my family and will be home in a couple days. When I have access to my reference materials, I'll take a look at those two scans.

I vaguely recall a conversation or perhaps an article in the Haiti Philatelic Society's journal that leads me to think it MIGHT be genuine, but my wife is driving on a storm and my three girls are restless on back, so it could just be my netves!

First, congratulations on completing Haiti.
For the overprints, I don't see the double surcharge.
One is the inverted surcharge and the other is the Haiti cancel from maybe Gonaïves.

You are correct, just an inverted surcharge, not doubled
Thanks

I'm not going to lie. Last night, in the car, looking on an iPhone, with three little girls hollaring in the back, driving in the rain, I thought we might've discovered a new quadruple overprint surcharge invert! Whew.
