During those years (1950's), we always said that the wrong team moved out of Boston. The Braves were the working class team and the Red Sox were the prima dona's.

I remember the Braves jingle for that year "Spahn and Sain and pray for rain".

Definitely an odd combination of stamp/cover. I would have used Scott #855, the first of many baseball stamps. They had a great year tumbling down the Yankee empire that year.
