Was going thru my Upper Silesia collection to scan & found these 4 items stuffed into a glassine. Seems odd to have them there, but there they were.

The top two are revenues from somewhere where arabic is spoken I believe

The British official looks suspicious & the German Label??

Thanks
Marios

Top two are from Bahrain.

top of stamps, first line "Government of Bahrain"
second line root of word is "money" - maybe "revenue"?

bottom left and right side inscriptions say "ten rupees " or five rupees" depending on which stamp

The german "label" is not a label- it is a part of a meter mark.

Thanks. Any idea of what the Meter mark is for or what it says?

This meter marke is normally larger- this is only a part of it. Beneath the 5 (Reichspfennig) you can read German Reichspost.

You are right to think the GB stamp with the I.R. OFFICIAL overprint is suspicious.
No 2/6 values of Victoria (or Edward 7) were ever issued with that overprint.

Thanks. Any ideas who forged it or it's origin.

I like to hang on to forgeries for reference.
I have over 50 Fournier forgeries and another 30 Spiros

This does not look like their work.

Will keep digging. Will bring it to the CSDA show & show it to a few dealer friends

Thanks
Marios

I'd suggest the Victoria 2/6 stamp is genuine and only the I.R. overprint is definitely fake. I think the overprint is too coarse to be the work of Fournier and he would have used a known overprinted value such as the 10/- or £1 and not a value that was never overprinted.
