ebay - will not allow sale of Cuban stamps on its site. Anyone interested in acquiring an excellent MNG / MH collection DM me and let's chat.

I just reviewed the "restricted" list and saw that no item from Cuba - regardless of date - can be sold on ebay. Last year I picked up an interesting box lot of albums that included 2 volumes of Cuba, and 2 volumes of North Korea - also on the restricted list. There are currently stamps on ebay from Cuba, primarily US occupation issues, but some modern as well. I am assuming they fly under the radar until reported or caught by some review. Have you looked into the other sites such as bidstart?

Also don't use PayPal for payment as they sometimes will lock your account.

pk-short I have found a less than satisfactory work-around this high handed and possibly illegal restriction (on both ebay USA and ebay Canada) - but it's not attracting buyers.

CanadaStamp - I saw how you were working around the restriction. Unfortunately I'm sure it's impacting sales since they are more difficult to find.

pk-short As it turns out - no sales for my "Caribbean Island" stamps. I guess the classification doesn't work - but it is the best I could come up with. What annoys me is that - well the USA can do what it wants regarding Cuba - but ebay also imposes that blockade on Canada ebay as well. This is an intrusion into Canadian autonomy and it is highly offensive.Might go over to Bidstart though I've listed there - some time ago - and found the traffic light.

Its interesting that the Cuba albums I obtained were by Mystic and the North Korea was by Kenmore. I'm assuming that stamps are not restricted from Cuba, but ebay just makes a general restriction so they don't have to deal with which items are restricted and which are covered by the embargo.

I wonder if the same restrictions exist on the international ebay sites?

The problem is that, as I understand it, the US restrictions on Cuba apply to US companies and their subsidiaries. That is, of course, flagrantly extraterritorial, but it would need an overseas government to take action against ebay or Paypal to put the companies and the US government in a hard place.

Just sold very large Cuba SS and sets lot to Germany for not much more than the cost of shipping. Very sad - that philatelists either don't collect the Americas or don't know a good buy when they see one. I save my disgust for ebay who thinks they are a government agency.
