found this sheet in the back of an old Scott junior album is this a precancel ? Don't know why someone would cancel that many at one time, could only scan a small part of the sheet,

looks more like some kinda roller was used, I'm not sure why post offices used blocks of small denomination stamps like that but there seems to be plenty around.

Macbearin, welcome to the forum!
It does look like a roller cancel. The sheets of cancelled stamps were sometimes used as a receipt. A very common use was as a receipt for business reply mail.
